  • Second Collaborative Technologies and Systems Symposium
    • Held January 27-31, 2002 in San Antonio, TX
    • Held in conjunction with the Western Multi- Conference 2002, the symposium is to address, explore and exchange information on the state-of-the-art in collaborative enterprises, their modeling and simulation, design and use, and their impact. Participation is extended to researchers, designers, educators and interested parties in all CT disciplines and specialties.

February:

  • Stop Surfing - Start Teaching 2002
    • National Conference on Teaching and Learning Through the Internet
    • Held February 10-13, 2002 in Myrtle Beach, SC
    • Now in its fifth year, this annual conference will create a forum for higher education professionals to share ideas and solutions, as well as propose questions and develop answers on the growing use of internet instruction. Focus of the conference will be on ideas and solutions as opposed to technical demonstrations. Participants will include higher education faculty, academic staff and administrators, student services professionals, marketing directors and consultants who are committed to launching their campus onto the information superhighway.

  • SITE 2002
    • 13th International Conference of the Society for Information Technology and Teacher Education (SITE)
    • Held March 18-23, 2002 in Nashville, TN
    • SITE represents individual teacher educators and affiliated organizations of teacher educators in all disciplines. The conference will cover topics related to the use of information technology in teacher education, and instruction about information technology in: Preservice, Inservice, Graduate Teacher Education, Faculty & Staff Development
  • 2002 ICT Conference
    • First international dissemination conference for the OECD/CERI ICT Programme
    • Held March 25-26, 2002 in Nashville, TN
    • The conference will focus primarily on the results of two large impact studies:
      1. Case studies of ICT and organizational innovation.
      2. Quasi-experimental studies of ICT practices and the learning of ICT and information handling skills.
    • These studies have generated important findings on the impact of ICT on schooling and learning. The purpose of the conference is to present and evaluate critically the completeness, quality, and implications of the OECD/CERI studies, as well as to discuss other relevant ICT studies in Canada, Mexico, and the USA. International panels of researchers, policy makers, practitioners, and corporate executives have been invited to react to the presentations and to give their own perspectives on the implications of the results.
