ACT Projects

	ACT is testing the feasibility of building stable, robust, collaborative applications (from simple to complex) for the recently released Flash Communication Server MX (Flashcom) from Macromedia.
	Ann Arbor - Torun - Bydgoszcz - Zielona Gora One of the long-term goals of this collaboration is to identify and promote technological solutions to the problem of helping diasporas contribute - apart from sending money and consumer goods - to the development of their countries of origin, without facing the often painful decision of re-emigration.
	Ann Arbor - Campinas ACT is providing technological consultation to a project aimed at improving reproductive health services in Brazil, Bolivia, and possibly other Latin American countries by encouraging communication and providing ongoing training among health care workers.
	Ann Arbor - Berlin - Oxford - Seoul ACT is playing a significant role as a source of technological know-how for the course on Global Design and Manufacturing launched in the Fall 2000, now in its third year.
	The Collaboratory on Technology Enhanced Learning Communities (CoTelCo) seeks to provide a highly interactive collaboratory environment for its participants to explore geographically distributed collaborative learning and complex, cross-national virtual teams.
	Ann Arbor - Washington - Johannesburg - Pretoria - Alice The Alliance for Community Technology helped launch this pioneering experiment in distance-independent education in 1999. Using a cluster of commercially available, Web-based technologies, a course is delivered, simultaneously, to students from several universities in the US and in South Africa.
